Why I Do This Work

 

I qualified as a dietitian in 2007, but it was during my community service at a children’s specialist hospital in South Africa that my passion for pediatric nutrition truly took root.

Working in government clinics, I saw firsthand how parents—despite having so little—were deeply committed to doing what was best for their children. But many still didn’t know how or when to introduce solids, or what “healthy” really looked like with the limited resources they had.

Even then, I saw how real food—prepared simply and offered with intention—could still nourish growing bodies and build lifelong habits. And I learned that what parents need most isn't perfection; it's guidance they can trust.

Years later, after relocating to a different country, I noticed that while the population changed, the questions didn’t. Parents were still overwhelmed by feeding. They were still asking—What do I offer? How do I start? Why is my toddler suddenly refusing food?

Despite advances in research and shifting best practices, the public health guidelines hadn’t evolved much. Instead of clarity, parents were now wading through even more noise, misinformation, and well-meaning but outdated advice.

That’s why I started this business.

To create a calm, trusted space where parents could find up-to-date, evidence-based information, delivered in a way that actually makes sense. A place where science meets practicality, and where parents are empowered, not judged.

I’m also a mum of two, so I know what it’s like to live this. I’ve breastfed a baby with a cow’s milk protein allergy. I’ve navigated the milk ladder. I’ve tried to balance nutrition knowledge with toddler tantrums and messy mealtimes. That lived experience matters—and it’s woven into every bit of advice I share.

Because feeding your baby shouldn’t feel like a guessing game, it should feel supported, confident, and even joyful.
